We are a fairly small pub with a large garden; on a nice summer's day if it suddenly rains we are seriously challenged by the number of people enjoying the garden who seek shelter indoors so there is now a large covered area on the patio which will also be very useful during the winter months.
We have fixed screens around the bar and automatic wall-mounted sanitizers strategically placed for everyone's protection; these will remain in place until the virus is well and truly under control. Please do not visit the pub if you think you may be infectious - as a business we may have to close if staff become infected which affects all of us. Just because legal restrictions have ceased doesn't mean the virus has disappeared!
I took on The Pheasant in March 1996, and after struggling with an erratic demand for food decided to concentrate on the local community trade by inviting customers to bring their own food instead. There are numerous take-aways locally, most of whom now offer a delivery service, or just bring a picnic to enjoy in the garden.
On draught we currently have Carlsberg, Birra Moretti, Inchs cider, Guinness, Stan's Big Apple, Doom Bar and a Guest Ale.
Bottles include Budvar, Desperados, Sagres, Newcastle Brown, Directors, Bulmers and Old Mout. Zero alcohol Moretti is also stocked, along with 0.5% Ghost Ship.
In addition to traditional spirits we have an interesting selection of modern gins, a number of flavoured vodkas and some special rums. And of course plenty of classic and modern soft drinks.
Wine is served in 125ml, 175ml and 250ml by the glass; we have Shiraz, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Blush, Sauvignon Blanc and Rose. Prosecco is available in mini and standard sized bottles.
Please note, we do not serve hot drinks.
We are open from 5pm Mon-Thurs; 4pm Friday; 2pm at weekends and on ALL Bank Holidays. We are not usually open at lunchtime during the week, but we are available for small private functions such as presentations or funerals outside of our usual opening hours. Please phone or email for more information.
Our house charity is Great Ormond Street Hospital; anyone who has experience of their care will endorse what a wonderful hospital it is.
